Inscription ouverte à TISR'2005
The
purpose of the International Workshop on “Text, Image
& Speech Recognition” is to
promote
discussions
and interactions between researchers and practitioners
focused on the areas described down below. We are
particularly interested in fostering the exchange of
concepts, prototypes, research ideas, and other results
which could contribute to the academic area and also
benefit business and the industrial community.
TISR’2005 will include presentations to contributed
papers and state-of-the-art lectures by invited keynote
speakers. A
special section will
be devoted for
exploring research, development and novel applications in
Arabic language automation
(machine translation, arabic handwritting and speech
recognition, numerical cataloguing, postal sorting,
valorization of inheritance, and so on).
We
welcome papers describing original contributions in all
fields of Document synthesis and analysis, Image and
Speech recognition research. Each paper will be judged on
its originality, significance, correctness and clarity.
Its contribution should be clearly explained in both
general and technical terms, and authors should make every
effort to ensure that its technical content is
understandable by a broad audience. Submission of a paper
should be regarded as an undertaking that, should the
paper be accepted, at least one author will attend the
conference to present the work.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
| Track1:
Pattern Recognition & AI |

Called
Hippo-Regius,
then Hippone, Annaba town
and seaport on the Mediterranean coast near Tunisian
border was
founded in 12th century B.C . It was the
favourite residence of kings of Numidia. In 46 B.C, as
result of the war between Caesar and Pompey, it
became
roman. After that, it experienced, successively, Vandal
and Byzantine occupations till the seventh century A.D.
In
Annaba you'll
find the 1,000-year-old Sidi Merouane Mosque and
the cathedral of St. Augustine. (St. Augustine wrote his
book The City of God there in the 5th century.) The
cathedral is set on a hill with a wonderful view of the
city and the Roman ruins of Hippo. It was built by Arabs
in the 7th century on the site of Aphrodisium, the Ancient
Roman port of Hippo, which was the bishopric of St
Augustine in the 5th century.
In the seventh century, Hippone took the name of BOUNA EL
HADITHA.
In
the sixteenth century, it received the name of ANNABA
because of numerous jujube trees, which grow in the region.
In 1522, the town was marked by the Ottoman Empire’s
stamp. From1535 to 1540, the Spanish occupied it. Then,
“LA COMPAGNIE D’AFRIQUE” founded there a commercial
counter, which played preponderant role in the
Mediterranean sea. In 1832, The City fell into French
hands and received a new name "BONE", In
1897, Eberhardt and her mother traveled to Bone and where
both converted to Islam. It was at this time that
Eberhardt began exploring the Sahara, disguised as an Arab.
At the end of the french occupation (1962), the town find
one's name again Annaba.
ANNABA
TODAY
: Chief
town of Wilaya (department) of 556 000 inhabitants.
Coastal town of 1411,98 km2.
Lent against the massif of Edough, Annaba
region is characterised by a great variety of different
resources: agriculture, forests, mines, industry and
tourism. It is the fourth city of Algeria after Algiers,
Oran and Constantine. It became university town in 1975.
