EARTH and WATER
“TERRE et EAU“ 
On 4^th, 5^th & 6^th Dec. 2004

Scope of the Conference: At a first sight, geology would deal with the study and description of rocks and minerals. However, on the descriptive point of view, this is not sufficient to understand the relationships between the nature and the structure of the rocks and water. This is fundamental as water is essential for life and its demand is always increasing, particularly in countries where climatic conditions are dramatic.  Algeria is still confronting the problem of both water quantity and quality. In this country, few research studies have been carried out involving the participation of both the geologists and hydrogeologists. This conference will be an occasion to meet the two disciplines and contributes to a better understanding of the real water capacities of our country. Annaba is the fourth largest cities of Algeria. Although the city  is characterized by a lovely coast, the old St Augustin basilica and roman rests, the industrial activities such as iron and steel factory, ASMIDAL, tomatoes factories, etc. made it the most polluted city in the country. This conference will be the occasion to discuss all these concerns.

- Submission of abstracts:  30-04-04

- Abstracts should be at about 400 words including Methods and Results

- Notification of acceptance of abstracts: 15/05/04

- Submission of final papers: 4 pages -  10/09/04
